Hydrogen Furnace Heat Treatment

Our proprietary thermal processes are critical to unlocking the high permeability required for advanced magnetic shielding. Shields undergo post-fabrication treatment in dry hydrogen atmosphere furnaces to ensure optimal microstructural alignment.

Heat Treatment Process Overview

  1. Ramp-Up: Gradual temperature increase to target level
  2. Soak Phase: 1562–2102°F (850–1150°C) hold (2–4 hours) for impurity removal and structure formation
  3. Controlled Cool-Down: Microstructure stabilization for peak permeability

Total Cycle Duration

~24 hours for MuMETAL®, up to 36+ hours for CRYOPHY® (cryogenic alloys)
